Baby Crack Machine Question

We have the one without the projector for Keira. It works just fine and I am going to get one for the new baby too. I only ever use the rain sound.

I saw they have a machine that has a projector feature. Do you/did you ever use that? It's the same price, but I'm not sure we would even use it.

I'm going to buy 2--one for Chloe to drown out baby cries and 1 for new baby. If the projector feature is cool and you use it, maybe I'll buy 2 of the projector ones instead of the ones without it.

If you do use it, do you think it's more for little babies and not toddlers? TIA!

Re: Baby Crack Machine Question

  • We've got a different type of baby crack machine, but similar in that it has the sounds and has a projector on it and DS loves the pictures! I think it's a great way to help him unwind on times when it is bed time but he's not quite there yet...now when I lay him down he automatically starts looking up for it. :)

  • We have the one with the projector, and just like everyone else, ours rotating function died out pretty fast. While she was an infant we did use the projection and she did like it. Now it will shine an image but not rotate, but we don't use that feature, I would say we haven't used it since the infant stage.

This. Wesley loved the projections while they worked, but we've used sound only for over 2 months now and he's done just fine.

  • I did not think I would use to Projection feature, but Tipp loves it!  I let the sound go all night, but turn on the projection in the morning when I wake up.  Tipp usually wakes as I am getting ready for work and it gives me at least 15 extra minutes of him laying in his crib quietly!

So far we have not had any issues with the projection and have been using it for over 2 months.

  • We never use the projector, and only ever put it on rain sounds!
  • Never used projector..... Like others, only use the rain sound.

However, I did make the mistake of showing him, for the first time, the projection pics a couple of weeks ago.  He screamed and pitched a fit when I turned it off b/c he wanted to keep watching.  Will never do that again.

  • We have two and only use the rain sound.

They have soothers on the side of the crib that they look at for music/lights.

  • We just use a plain ol' fan in Holly's room for white noise. We use one too--I can't sleep in a silent room. The one in Holly's room was $9 at Target. She doesn't have a ceiling fan in her room, and I like for air to circulate in there--it's supposed to be healthier.

Not what you asked, but a cheaper alternative anyway if you're just looking for white noise. :-)

  • our sound machine only played sounds, and it was small enough to take from room to room when she was little. in her crib, she also had a mobile with a projection feature. around six months that because pretty freakin' awesome, but i'm not sure if she'd be as in to it now or not.

  • Another cheaper option- my sister uses these with her kids (now 18mos, 4y) and has for awhile:
