Who is purchasing a snowsuit for your LO?

If so where are you getting it at?  In addition, where are you getting the shoes?

As much as I think it would be fun for G to play in the snow this year I could see the whole ensemble being very expensive.  Not only that but I think its not something that would probably last very long considering she will not be able to wear it next year.  I know she will go out and play in the snow a little but I am not sure she will do it enough to get the moneys worth out of it.  I am torn.

  • It will be very expensive but I got a coupon in the mail from Gap... 35% off everything plus I have $10 rewards card so I think it will end up being okay.

I already bought his coat from Baby Gap.  I'm getting snow pants from Old Navy and boots from Piperlime (Stride Rite).

And to make matters worse, we live in North Carolina but are visiting family in Michigan for 10 days over Christmas.  So we're buying all this so he can play in the snow for 10 days.  Watch him not even like playing in the snow, lol!

  • I got a $80 snowsuit at Carters at the end of season last year for $20.  I still need to find her some boots because we are totally going sledding this year!  I can't wait.

  • I bought her a snow bib at Target for $11. They also have them and bubble jackets at Walmart for $13. You can get very warm snow boots as well for $20 at Target, Walmart, Sears, etc. I didnt want to spend alot since we will probably use them only a few times this year and they wont fit next year :)
  • My mom bought the girls their heavy winter coats last year when they were on sale.  And then I bought snow pants at Old Navy for only $15 when they had a sale.  And their boots are from Target.

Last year when we had a ton of snow, I didnt take the girls out at all.  Hopefully this year they will get to play in some.

  • There are some cute ones on Zulily right now. Not sure if they are good or not since we live in FL and I would have NO IDEA what to look for.

  • I got a hand me down from Carters.  I had originally purchased snowpants from Target for $15 and boots from another $15 I think.  I don't really see him playing in the snow... but Target had some good buys if you want to keep something on hand "just in case".

  • Luke's is a Columbia set...jacket and snowpants.  His boots are from Old Navy.  We got them a little big, so I'm hoping (fingers crossed) we can pull it off for next year too.  And we are in MN so it snows here all.the.time.

Just a heads up... sometimes it doesn't even snow in MI during the holiday.  MI weather is a crapshoot.

  • Thanks for the suggestions.  I am going to have too look at those places and see what I find.

DH is talking about taking G sledding this year so I know he will knix the idea of us NOT buying her a snow suit.  (I am so not an outdoorsy girl and would be 100% content staying nice and toasty in my home.)

  • I bought my guy enough snowsuits to last him until he is about 5. I got them all at Goodwill and they are Lands End and Columbia. I think the most expensive one was $5 and they are in great shape.
