Bloody Diaper:(

At 3 AM last night, when we changed DS's diaper, we found blood in it.  It wasn't from his rash(he's had that before---that has cleared up).  He also was spitting up quite a bit from 2pm on.

DH was super scared, since he has Crohn's, and immediately thought the worst.  We called the after hours number and spoke to a nurse. It sounds like it might be an allergy thing. In 10 minutes, I need to call to make an appointment for today.  I've eaten chocolate every single day since he was born, and didn't have any dairy in the last few days. I'm wondering what it could be.

I hope it is an easy fix!  He does a combo of breast milk and formula(Similac Advanced--he's always been on that, since being 2 days old).

    my baby had some in his last week for a few days. we went to the pedi on monday and she didnt seem too concerned. she said it might because of the dairy thing... i don't eat/drink a lot of dairy. it's gone away, but i swear lastnight at 3 am (yeah...half sleeping) when i changed his diaper there was blood in it. so we'll see when i change them today whats in there.

    My twins have had many bleeding diaper rashes that needed Nystatin ointment to treat it (which worked right away). Definitely get a prescription so you can have some on hand!

    Oh, DS just finished using a prescription antibiotic for a rash. His rash is completely cleared, except for one spot(not bloody at all-just a tad red).

     

    I'm glad it isn't a huge deal, and hopefully will figure out what is triggering this bloody stool:(
