Babies at Butler Basketball games????

Hi ladies! I have a random question!  I have a 5.5 month old son- do you think that taking him to a butler basketball game would be too loud and crazy for a baby his age?  Thanks!

Re: Babies at Butler Basketball games????

  • I don't think it would.  It seems to be pretty family friendly there from the games I've been to.

  • Depends on how well your LO tolerates loud noise I suppose.  No way could we have taken Mads at that age, it would have freaked her out.  But some kids are way more tolerant than mine.

  • Depends on the baby...Clark - no way even in at 8-9 months taking him to a high school baseball game scared him with the clapping and yelling!
  • Depends on their personality and how well they would sit, etc.   My DD1 would have never, in a million years, been able to handle that.

When she was a baby, DH and I would go to sporting events and people would have their babies on their lap, and DH and I always wondered how/why people did that!   But now we see why (DS2 would do just fine sitting at our lap for any sporting event).   I am considering bringing him to a basketball game at Butler in January

  • I think it would have overwhelmed Andrew, but it depends on the kid!
  • I sat in front of a little baby last year. He was months old and did fine.

  • Thanks so much.  It's weird how you don't really notice how LOUD and how OFTEN people are cheering and yelling at those games, and just how loud the band is....until you think of it through the eyes (and ears) of a baby.  I might give it a try, but drive separately from DH in case we need to leave early!
