take the deal and run?! furniture pics

LO's crib has been unavailable since the moment after I picked it out.  Friends ended up just giving us a giftcard for the crib and mattress because they couldn?t buy it off the registry for the same reason.  So today I went into BRU and was pretty much like, "what gives?" 

The customer service lady was so helpful and understanding.  She asked us what our price range was and told us to pick out another crib and she would get us close to the price of the original crib.  Needless to say, we ended up changing the entire furniture set.  We went from Graco to picking Babi Italia or Baby Cache.  I was so excited about getting the better set of furniture that I told her the WRONG collection.  I didn't realize it until she had rung everything up and pretty much gave us a 4 piece set for 48% off.  Yep, 48% off the entire set...not just the crib!  AND no shipping fee!

The lady had worked so hard to get us this deal I couldn?t bring myself to say, "opps, I wanted the other collection."  I was afraid she wouldn?t be able to pull it off a 2nd time.  DH was there with me and when I whispered the situation to him he looked at both collections and said, "Well the other one is nice too.  Lets just take the deal and run!"  I felt like he was right (I was choosing between the two anyway which is how I ended up telling her the wrong one in the 1st place) so now this is the furniture we are getting plus a night stand.

    Maybe this will help?  Your original choice was our top choice for DS and I read a TON of bad reviews on the crib - something about the mattress not sitting as low as some other cribs and baby being able to climb out a little earlier than in other cribs?  I can't remember exactly (2 years ago!) but I remember it was enough to turn me off from the crib.  We went with a Babi Italia set (which I believe the crib you ordered is) and we have been so incredibly happy.  Our set is beautiful and has been tough and durable with DS.  Actually the crib you ordered was our 2nd choice set for this baby but we ended up getting a different one.

    THANK YOU!!!  This makes me feel 100% better.  I really appreciate your input.  I'm a 'researcher' too but I didn't have that luxury since we were in the store doing everything so unexpectedly.  Glad you have something to say about both.  :)

    yes, I also say take the deal and run.  The cribs look very similar anyway.

    Take the deal and run. I think the crib you ended up getting is more gender neutral should you should to use it for another baby or sell it down the road. I am totally blown away by the deal you got! I was in love with that crib actually, and ended up getting something a little cheaper because we had to buy all the furniture ourselves. I'm jealous!

    We actually have the Baby Cache crib, but in cherry. BUT while I liked the crib, I hated the armoire that came with it as a set. If we didn't already have a dresser that matched and needed to buy the set, then I wouldn't have gotten it.

     

    Take it & run. They're pretty similar and I think once baby is in it, you'll never even think about it again

    Funny you should say that because the reason I was thinking about the Cache set was because of the Armoir.  Then I decided that LO might not need it after all since the original armoir I wanted served as a bookcase as well.  This one does not.  Thanks!  That makes me feel better as well.
