I see the doctors, how are they about induction? I know I may be getting ahead of myself, but I want to ask at my 40 week appointment on Wednesday and just wondering what to expect. Are any of the doctors more likely to induce than others?
From my experience Dr Fesenmeier is pro induction. He told me that he was happy to let me ho to 42 weeks but was totally cool with breaking my water (the only kind of induction I could have). So, I guess he is very " patient choice". That being said, I was dilated and considered favorable when he said that. So, my vote is fir Fesenmeier:) Good luck!
I think at 39 weeks Dr Stephens suggested scheduling one if I didn't go in the next week or so and then when I went back at 40 weeks I was already 3cm dilated and in labor so Dr Schutte wanted me to go straight to Christ but I waited 12 hours, wanted a bunch of stuff done before I went down. Then when I was there Dr Singh monitored me and Dr Stephens took over the next shift and wanted to send me home because my labor was going so slow! But I stayed and had DS2 15 hours after they admitted me.

Thanks!! I am seeing Fesenmeier at 9am Weds, so I am feeling really good about this

Yea!!! Perfect. Just don't be afraid to tell him what you want!
At my 40 week appt (with Fesenmeier) I was not dilated AT ALL. He wanted me to schedule a 41 week appt and said they would talk induction at that time. My water broke the next morning. :-) Good luck!!! It seems that Fleming is ok with it too, but I don't personally know that from experience.....just from what I've heard.
Dr. Fleming saw me at my 39 week appointment and told me that if I made it to 40 weeks, we would talk about induction. I went into labor that night But he was definitely favorable toward it.
With my second, I had a scheduled c-section, so it was never discussed. Good luck at your appt -- maybe you won't make it and your LO will decide to come before then!

This! I asked him at my 38 week appt about this and he said we will discuss it at the 39 week appt... I went into labor that saturday and you know the rest of the story! He was so nice at my 39 week appt and made me feel so much better when he FINALLY admitted me... I love him, he is awesome... Next baby, I will just see him since I will go to C-section!
My second was a scheduled induction at 38 weeks with Dr Schutte. My third was Dr. Sutler at 38 weeks. The policy has changed since they were born Dr. Stamler had a c-section scheduled for me at 39 weeks with #4 and said that we would not do it any earlier that that now. They are really careful about first babies, since they don't know how Mom is going to respond. I thought they were all very pro-induction except Cindy. Good Luck!
