Birth Story

Friday morning I woke up feeling a lot of pelvic pressure. I went to the bathroom and when I stood up, my water broke.Since I had low fluid, the dr. on call told me to go to the hospital immediately instead of laboring at home for a little while as we had originally hoped for. I got to the hospital around 9 and was put in a room right away. Contractions didn't start until around 11:30 and were light and irregular. At 2:00, I was checked and was 3-4 cm dialated and 75% effaced. The contractions started getting intense after the exam and I could barely talk. The nurse left to check on her other patient and I suddenly felt a burning sensation between my legs. I told my husbad, who looked and started yelling " STOP PUSHING!". I wasn't actually pushing but the baby was crowning. My husband pushed the intercom while continuing to tell me "Don't push. They're coming. Don't push!" The nurses and Dr. came running in and at this point I only had to push once to get him completely out.

Ari Miguel was born on 11/26/2010 at 2:29pm. He's healthy besides a slight case of jaundice. We are able to have him monitored as an outpatient so we both came home last night.

He couldn't have been born on a better day because now our sons birthdates are 12-26(the day after christmas and also born on his father's 21st birthday) and 11-26(the day after thanksgiving this year).
