Those with Ergo carrier

At what age can LO be carried in it without newborn insert? DS is getting a little big for the insert, but not sure he's at the point yet where I can wear him normal in it, and my ergo is old and I can't find the DVD instruction. Thanks!

    it says 12lbs. DD is 12lbs 11.5oz and I tried without it yesterday. I didn't feel 100% comfortable, so I just left her with it. I want her to have a bit more neck control.

    I carry LO in it now without the insert.  I use my Moby most of the time, but I think he had enough head control around 9 weeks of age to go without the infant insert.  It all depends on your LO, though.  DS had very good head control very early.

    I haven't used the infant insert for a couple of weeks.  DS has amazing head control and is a big boy (12 pounds at his 1 month appointment) and hes been doing fine without it.

    We stopped using the infant insert when DS1 was 10 weeks. The Ergo website has video instruction about various holds. hth
