Can't get my baby to burp!

I am not sure what else to try... I have done the sitting up position, on the chest/shoulder, and on my leg, but nothing seems to work well.  She only burps every once in a while and the rest of the time she either spits up or gets hiccups/gas.  Any tips from others who have had issues?

    We do two things when the girls won't burp:

    1.  While they're sitting up on your knee, we dip them down so they're laying flat then raise them back up.

    2.  Also when they're on our knee, we bounce them a little while patting them on the back.

    Some combination of those two things helps them burp easier.

    My DS was the same way!  Then would be super fussy/gassy.  I finally got him to burp by putting him up really high on my shoulder... his belly on my shoulder and draped over... only thing that would work for him.  goodluck!

    We have the same problem. For some reason though, if I lay DS down for a few minutes then come back and try again he burps. I hope that helps.

    My son became a much better burper after about 2.5 months.

    Do u BF?  If so, babies don't always have a burp.
