Anyone use a sippy that doesn't have the leak proof valves?

Want to recommend one to me?  At daycare they use the tupperware sippies.  The kids LOVE them because they can get milk so much easier than with a bottle.  I've looked into buying the tupperware ones, but they have to be shipped and are kind of pricey.  I do like that they are designed so that you can use them as regular cups later.  Anyways, anyone using a sippy like this that doesn't have a leak proof valve that is cheaper and that you like?

  • We've been using the Munchkin brand which have worked well for us until the last month or so.  DD loves to shake them upside down to shake the liquid out now.  I posted below to get recs for new ones because of this.

  • We don't use them, but a lot of sippies have valves you can remove. Also, I've seen a lot of people use the take n toss ones.
  • We use 1st Years Take and Toss. I love them and they are cheap.

  • I was going to say take & toss also, I haven't used them but I know ppl like them.

re removing the valves- I have tried this but the milk literally pours out & my kids are not ready for this since they're always knocking them over, banging and dropping on the floor...and I'm not up for more cleanup than there already is ;)

  • Take & Toss.  We've used them since we transitioned from the bottle.  Cheap, and they are easy to clean...they don't have a million parts & pieces.

  • Another vote for Take and Toss cups!  DS was not having the valve cups!  They use these at daycare so after trying various brands, we just started using these as well.  They are a good flow speed for him.

  • Ditto on the Take and Toss. DD also uses the cheap plastic grocery store "juice boxes" with the flip down spout and straw. She has always been good with a straw and I like that she's mastered that because you can always find a straw when you're out.

We use those, and for the most part they don't leak. Once in a while the lid might not screw on right and it will leak, but it's infrequent.

The only things I've noticed is : DS figured out that he can push it on his table and the milk will come out. He also has broken the middle piece with his fingers (on 2 cups) by shoving his finger into the nipple. My son might just be unique in causing those problems though :)

  • Thanks!  Looks like we'll be trying the Take 'N Toss

Or... maybe we'll still look into the Tupperware.  Debates.
