I also LOVE Ava, but not really a fan of how popular it is. Other girls names I like are Abigail, Avery, Sophia and Olivia (DH does not like Olivia at all). My niece's names are Emma and Ella, and I love their names.
When I was PG with DS, before we knew the gender, our girl's name was Mackenna (not sure on how we would've spelled it) Rose. However, now that we're getting ready to start TTC #2 in the next couple of months, we're not sure we really love it as much as we originally thought we did, so it may not make our girls list this time.

Well first off, you're REALLY overestimating how popular Ava actually is. Today people are using a wider variety of names, so even names in the top 10 are less used than they used to be. There are less children named Ava today than there were children named Jessica in the 80's---a lot less.
Secondly, unless it's popular in your area, it's no big deal at all. If it still bothers you that your daughter will maybe have one or two other Ava's in her class, what about:
