DS's room seems so cold when walking in there. We dont shut the door tight but do close it and it always seems colder in there when we walk in. The house is set at 71 so I got a space heater with a thermostat. I tried setting it to 70 and the 75.....nothing. I couldn't get it to kick on till 80. I dont want to keep it that warm in there. Not sure what's going on.

Re: Ok I am so confused
If it's that much of a disparity between your LO's room and the rest of the house, you might want to contact a local HVAC technician. There could be some sort of blockage in your ventilation. Do you feel anything coming out of the vents in that room? Also, where is your thermostat located? It could be installed in an area (like a hallway) that is reading a higher temp than what is in your LO's room.
I can't really answer your question regarding a space heater. That is weird.

This! Space heaters are a no-no in baby's room.
I was only using it to warm the room up before bed and I would turn it on when I went in to feed him (he's still up every few hours), but I always turn it off before I leave the room. I close his door and hope that will keep it warmer. But yes, I probably need to call someone. Although a pp had a good point.....our thermostat for the house is in the hall so I wonder if it gets warm there quicker, so it gets the reading and shuts off.
