We're trying to decide between two names for our little girl and since I know you ladies will be honest, I want you tell me what you think, any nn's that come to mind, that type of thing. (Our last name sounds like Loomus)

Keira Suzanne

or

Tessa Kate

I have heard the Tessa-testicles one, but I want to know if there's any I haven't thought of. Thanks ladies. Let'er rip!

I love both first names, like Kate, not crazy about Suzanne but of course you may have a family reason for using, etc.

I think I like them better with the opposite middle name (Keira Kate or Keira Katherine and Tessa Suzanne).

Tessa by far. Now if you were doing Tess, I could see the testicle connection, but I think Tessa helps eliminate that.

Keira is the actress spelling, and that bugs me to no end. It's supposed to be Kira or Ciara (pronounced Keera), so I see it as copying someone else's name mistake.

Tessa Kate sounds like masticate to me, but that's the best I could come up with. If your last name starts with the letter, O then she'd have the awesome initials TKO.

I know several ladies on here do not like the name Tessa, but I LOVE it! I think it is beautiful and not too common. Keira is good too, but if I chose one to name my daughter, it would be Tessa Kate.

I love Tessa, so I'm going with Tessa Kate. Although I like pp's suggestion of Tessa Suzanne, if only because Tessa Kate reminds me of desiccate. Which isn't a big deal, really, but that's just my preference.

I knew a Tessa in high school and she never got teased for her name. I don't love the name, but I don't think the testicle thing is a prominent for a Tessa as it would be for a Tess.

Oh! And I agree that Tessa Kate sounds like a verb. Tessa Katherine is much better. Tessa Kira wouldn't actually be too bad.

My DD's name is Keira so that gets my vote

And I looked at how to spell Keira before she was born & I saw both Keira & Kiera (along with Kyra, Kira, etc.) so Keira is not a spelling mistake

I say Keira... It's my name, so I'm biased

. This spelling is fine, although I've had to correct people's various spellings my whole life. Honestly though, I get so many compliments on my name that I don't mind the spelling mistakes!

I like the spelling of Keira. I had a student several years ago spelled that way (long before anyone knew of the actress). I feel like I might mis-pronounce Kira as Kyra.
