Just a quick reminder to listen to your body & if you don't feel something is right, get checked out.
Last night DH, Lucy (DD#1), & I were out to eat supper with my parents and I started getting really sweaty/clammy and my lower back started to have this shooting pain all the way around into my lower abdomen. We left supper early to head home (we live 30 miles outside of the city) and halfway out of town we decided to go get me checked out at the hospital - I couldn't eat stretch out or move hardly at all. By the time I got to the hospital I was in so much pain I couldn't even walk to the labor floor. They did a bunch of tests and turns out I either have a pretty severe UTI or possible kidney stones (yay...). Seriously ladies I was in more pain last night then I was when I gave birth to Lucy. Long story short, I now have to strain my urine (very exciting) for the next 3 days until I can get in and see my regular doctor. I'm still very uncomfortable, but at least they gave me something to manage the pain with (however the drugs make me super tired & a little loopy - so I'm trying not to use them that often).
Please listen to your bodies and if something doesn't seem/feel right, it probably isn't...we almost drove all the way back home; and pretty sure we would have had to call the ambulance at that point because I wouldn't have been able to even get into a vehicle at that point.
GL!!.
Re: listen to your body...spent last night in labor/delivery
Be careful not to get constipated from the pain meds! I know it's not a nice thought, but they can really back you up. I'd add in some benefiber to a BIG drink.
Thank you for sharing this with us! It is a good reminder for all of us.
I am glad you are ok, and that you caught it before anything worse happened! Good luck!
