I've thought about it. Their success rates are nothing short of miraculous. They don't take our insurance, but are willing to submit bills for them. The costs for us between their costs for an IVF cycle and the costs for travel/lodging/food don't make it worthwhile-maybe if none of our 3 insurance covered IVF's worked, we might think about going there for a last ditch effort. It's a tough call.

I think this might be our last attempt so I thought going where I have the best chance might be worth it.

Thank you! It sounds like her consult was very worthwhile. I have a phone consult with Dr Schoolcraft, have you heard good or bad things about him? I really thought Dr. Minjarez sounded very thorough (from your blog)

I cycled there last fall. There are several of us from Kansas City who have gone there after having bad experiences with the RE's here. I will say it was one of the toughest things I've ever done. I was there about 2 weeks, and my DH was there 1 week. Our cycle didn't go very well - it's when we found out how serious our problems were, and it was really hard being there in these hotel rooms, doing injections, etc. Emotionally, it was very rough, but I did feel like I was in the best hands possible, and it helped me get to the point where I could come to terms with not using my own eggs.
My story is really an exception because there are SO many couples who find success there after multiple failures at their home clinics. I think a phone consult with Dr. Schoolcraft is a good place to start. What I like about the RE's there is that they are very scientifically-minded and will really make sense of your history and help you come up with a plan.
There is a Colorado board on www.ivfconnections.com (Forum --> IVF --> IVF by Location --> IVF in the U.S. --> Colorado) where a lot of CCRM patients post. There is a lot of good information on there about the phone consults, one-day work-up, traveling, etc.
I truly wish you the best. Please let me know if I can ever answer any questions about CCRM.

Just a question....i live in NYC, and our problems also turned out to be more serious than i thought as well. If you were close to Cornell, would you consider it to be as good? I live walking distance to Cornell, and have an appt there in about a month.
Just interested in how out of state people view Cornell vs CCRM. I am under the impression they are comprable.

When you look at the difference in success rates for under 35, you see a big difference. For CCRM, they report 69.5% of transfer result in live birth. For Cornell, 47.4% of transfer result in live births.

The process was actually pretty quick. I initially called them in June and arranged the phone consult for July. Our one-day work-up was in August, and we cycled in October. We could have cycled earlier, but my dr. wanted my DH to be on antioxidants for 3 mo. before we cycled (he started them right after the phone consult).

It seems like CCRM is the one you hear most about for people travelling to, but Cornell definitely has a great reputation, too. I have heard mostly about Dr. Davis and the co-culture procedure in terms of Cornell. If you are that close to Cornell, though, it may be worth getting a second opinion there before looking into CCRM just because of the cost and hassle of going to CCRM.
Best wishes!

I was going to if this last FET didn't work. Here's a blog post about it:
