so what do you think of
Dh has his heart set on a name that I'm undecided about. I told him I would think about it and see if it grows on me. I don't hate it but I don't love it. I haven't been able to come up w/ many names I love though.

Dh loves Wesley and Charles is after my Great Uncle who I was very close to as a child. I'd love to do Charles as a fn but Dh vetoed it as he also has a Great Uncle w/ that name who is a major jerk. So what are your thoughts?

It's a great name! Classic, sophisticated, and stately. And using Charles as a MN is a great compromise; you can't expect YH to use a name he has a negative association with as a FN.

Yes exactly this is why will most likely use it as a mn. I totally understand where he is coming from. If it were me I wouldn't want to use it for a fn either. I still love Charles and wish we could use it for a fn but will compromise as a mn for him.
I love it. Mainly because it doesn`t sound made up or cheap. U`Neek spelling makes parents sound stupid and I think it will make it more difficult for their children to be looked at by boarding schools (why limit them, you never know, lottery wins happen). I also really like it as Charles Wesley, but totally understand if you DH has a bad association (we all have a few of those which ruin perfectly wonderful names).
Wesley and Charles are both on our list, so I'm a fan! I think they're both nice, strong, classic names. I think it's a great compromise to have Charles as the middle name because of your DH's negative association with it.
