I have no experience with the bebePod, but we have a Bumbo and we love it. Grace loves being upright and able to look around. It is wonderful in the bathroom- I can put her in it on the counter right in front of my while I do my hair and makeup, while being close enough to make faces/talk to her and keep her entertained for longer periods of time. We keep one at the grandparents' houses, too.
look into the summer seat. its like the bumbo and also doubles/triples as a seat/playseat with toys/booster seat(when older). And its only $50 you get a little more bang for your buck
We were gifted the Bumbo...I don't know about the bebePod though the Bumbo is somewhat squishy and I like that.
When do you start using these? My boy loves to sit upright when awake but he obviously can't always hold up his head...though he is getting pretty darn good at it!
