Hmmm I believe we have 8. We use 2 in a day. One for milk, and the other for water. if he doesn't finish his drink, it goes back in the fridge for later (unless of course it was laying around for a long time- then we wash it out)

We have four straw Nuby cups that are for milk only. We use one a day. We had four Tommee Tippee sippy cups, but lost/misplaced one. I use these for water and juice/water when we are out and about, one a day. Then we have eight or so "Take & Toss" cups for water and juice around the house and use about one a day. This is not counting the stash of sippy cups I bought and for various reasons do not use (but I have been giving those away to friends with younger kids) or those that LO has work out (but that I keep to cannibalize parts as needed). So, we have about sixteen cups and use about three a day. (Probably more info than you wanted or cared to know. . . sorry!)

We use 2 a day - one for milk and one for water. We must have about a dozen of them. About 6 hard spout and 6 with a straw. I feel like we have a ton of others that we don't use that we bought when we were trying different cups out. I just bought 2 more today because we've lost a couple recently.
We already have a ton, too, but some are sippies that they won't take.
Sophia uses the kind with the straw and Lily will only use a certain Nuby soft spout one. They have two each of those, but I am wondering if I should be giving them a new sippy after each meal down the road so they are clean. (Right now they are just getting water in them, so it doesn't matter, but in a couple months when they are on milk, I wonder if we should change them out more? I am sure I am overthinking this.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
Like pp mentioned, we put LO's sippy cups in the fridge after use, especially his milk sippy. Otherwise, I feel like I would either spend more time washing cups than i would like or running the dishwasher all the time to keep up--and that's with just one toddler. But, you need to do what you are comfortable with. LO gets milk with breakfast, but, depending on the day, not with every meal. He would drink milk all day long, if I let him, so, I try to limit him to no more than 24 ounces a day. He gets his milk sippy before nap and bed time. (Some may not agree with that, but we brush his teeth before bed and he sleeps well. Its not broken, so I'm not going to mess with it!)

I have 4 straw cups (2 for each of the twins) and MILLION and one of other kids. So i think maybe i have 18 total but I am starting to throw out some because they are chewed to hell

we currently have 7 - 3 hard spout ones from IKEA, and 4 Tommee Tippee soft spout. We wash them after each meal, even though they only have water in them, because the spouts get all gross from them drinking after they eat purees. So I guess technically we use 9 per day. I'm thinking about trying some straw cups soon.

We mostly use the take-n-toss and have two Sesame Street packs right now, so six cups total. We also have one Nuk hard spout cup.
Daycare provides milk/cups, so we go through two cups a day at home -- one at breakfast and one at dinner/through the evening.
