Noisy baby monitor?

Does your baby monitor make a loud static/buzzing sound on the speaker end?  Not sure if this is how it is supposed to be, but my Graco monitor does this constantly...

    Ours does if the cell phone charger is pulled in by it.

    Ours does it.  We think it might be the distance between the nursery and bedroom.  And that we have a brick wall in the bedroom (it's a converted garage).  We even went out and bought another one, it did it even worse.

    The first one we bought did that.  It drove me nuts in about 5 min so we returned it for the Sony Baby Call monitor.  It has 27 different channels to choose from and we never have static.  Totally worth the money!
