We used to be in a nanny share, where we shared a nanny full time with another family. The other family originally found the nanny, then we found them. They found the nanny on the DC Urban Moms forum, and we found them looking for a share on the same site.

Good luck!
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how does a nanny share work? Does it mean the nanny watches both families children at the same time? If so, did you have to bring your child to someone else's house? Sorry, I'm new at this and confused.
It's not a dumb question because there are so many different ways to do it. We did a nanny share with another family where the nanny watched both kids (ours and the other family's) full time. Because they had been using the nanny originally, we took DD to their house every day (also because our nanny didn't drive and we are not metro accessible). Some people alternate who's house it's at.
Also, some people who only need the nanny part time split the nanny's time, so s/he watches one kid three days a week, and the other kid 2 days a week, for example.
We used White House Nannies and could not be happier. Our new nanny is amazing and the best thing to happen for our family.
We found our previous nanny on Craigslist and I would not do that again (though I know others who have had success). The nanny that we hired from Craigslist (and all of the candidates we found there) just did not have the qualifications and experience of the ones we found through the service.
The service certainly cost more, but I wish I had gone that route in the beginning.
