Shopping with a non-sitter

DD because of length and us living up a bunch of stairs, is switching to a convertible car seat so I only have to carry her up the stairs (somehow this is less heavy).

My only question is she's obviously not sitting yet and probably wont be able to sit safely until jan/feb. How does one go shopping (like grocery, target) with a non sitter and a non infant carrier?

I've actually seen people holding their LO's while shopping. If I don't feel like taking in the stroller or carrying the car seat, I use my Ergo. You could always try a sling or a wrap as well too.

I have the same problem. LO reached the height limit on her infant carrier at about four months and she's still not sitting. I try to leave her with dh when I can, or wear her in the moby when I can't. It sucks. One suggestion if you're really in a pinch - LO could sit in the convertible seat in the car but bring the infant carrier to use in carts.

I think there are certain models of car seats that are approved for using on the shopping cart...but from what I've read most aren't and it's very dangerous to put your car seat on the shopping cart.

I'd probably just use my baby bjorn. It would also depend on what I needed...if I needed only 1 or 2 things, I would then carry him. I have seen some shopping carts with seat like things (kinda looks like a car seat that is just plastic), al though I have never looked at it closely.

You can sit the carrier IN the cart.

Mathieu has always hated being in his carseat when we are not in the car. We always just carried him or if I was alone I would put him in his carrier. So much easier than lugging the carseat!
