If you own a PB Anywhere chair...

My parents are buying DD an anywhere chair for Christmas. My dad thinks that the My First Anywhere chair is big enough but I'm concerned my LO will outgrow it since the seat is only 11" wide and 12" deep. The regular is 14"x15".

If you own an Anywhere chair, and specifically a My First Anywhere chair, what are your thoughts on the size differences? The idea of dragging DD to PB Kids this week to check her out in it is practically too much to handle. My LO is on the small-ish side (21 lbs at 14 mos) but I want her to use this for awhile if possible.

Re: If you own a PB Anywhere chair...

  • DD is 23 pounds 32 inches tall and the My First Chair is perfect for her. When she sits in it with her back against the back her feet still do not touch the floor and there is plenty of room side to side. I am guessing she will outgrow it when she is around 3 or so, but for now I think the bigger chair would be too big and more of a fun thing to climb on instead of sit in.

  • I'd get the regular Anywhere Chair.  We got ours around the same time and it's fine, with LOTS of room to grow.  The main thing is can they get in and out of it, and sit in it.  It doesn't have to look perfectly proportioned to their bodies ;)

  • I would get the regular. We bought DD's in store and had her sit in both the My First and the regular one. It seemed like she would outgrow the My First chair very quickly.
  • We have the regular size and my LO is tiny (18ish lb @ 14 months).  its perfect for her and it will last longer
  • With anything that involves a child's size you should always err on the slightly bigger (except for shoes of course) so the child can grow with it.  The Anywhere chair is a prime example.  We got that for DD for her 1st birthday and she was weighing in at 21 lbs at the time.  She is able to climb onto it and will sit there and flip through her books.  Knowing that it'll probably last her for a good few years is the reason why I chose to buy it.  If I were to get the My First instead I can already imagine having to store it or selling it in another year or two.

  • I think there are 3 sizes right? We have the middle ones which I think are the regulars. Definitely go w/ that one.
  • We have the regular sized one and my friend's LO (they're 4 months apart) has the my first chair - while the smaller one is a perfect fit for them right now, I like DD's because she can grow into it and I know will be able to use it for quite some time.  My DD is 21lbs and has no problems climbing into it - she loves her chair!

  • Definitely get the regular sized one.  DD was about the same age when we got hers.  She is a shortie and had no problems getting in and out.

  • We got the regular sized one for DD- she's able to crawl up on it (and actually uses it to crawl onto the couch, if it happens to be nearby!). My DS, who is 5, has one in the same size, and should be able to use it for several years to come. I would get the regular sized one, not the small one- it just won't get used for nearly as long!

  • I can sit in the regular size one myself. I think the regular one is fine - is that the first one? I know they make an oversized, we just have the normal size and that is what I would recommend. DD loved it at 1 and still sits in it at 4.
