I'm not defending her, but shouldn't an "open minded" person allow for people with ALL beliefs? Not just those that jive with their own?
I didn't have a problem with her having an opinion on living together in general. I didn't like the stereo-typing she presented... of younger moms, single moms, and older moms.
I just don't understand her issue. When DD was little and asking questions about her friend that had two mommies, I explained that there are many different types of families. Why is that so hard to do? It doesn't matter what personal views are. The fact is that children will encounter different family structures throught life.

This and I differentiate between having a different opinion than me and simply being ignorant. I see what you are saying though, katiekate.

Oh, trust me, I'm not defending her stupidity. Just pointing out the hypocrisy of calling her "close minded". (I meant to quote someone up there and this would have made a whole lot more sense LOL)
Re: Wow, apparently I am incredibly immoral...
You HEATHEN!
(And howdy, neighbor!)
This is good advice. I don't know why I let stuff like that get to me so much.
I'm right there with ya...
What ticks me off is she makes it an age thing. It gives all us "older moms" a bad name.
Wow. Maybe she doesn't get out much?
You are an incredible friend/mother/partner regardless of your "label."
That chick needs a reality check.

Oh ignore her!

I guess I'm pretty immoral too. Dh and I lived together before we were married, and even got ku two months after we started dating.
I don't think I'm fit to have around anyone's children.
This. To say she think that she lives in some perfect bubble would be an understatement.

Yep, this.
