How many months was your LO when you started to bathe them without an infant tub? Or when do you plan to start?
We stopped using a tub at about 4 months. I just put a few inches of water and lay him in it (it didn't come past his ears.) Now I definitely couldn't because he is sitting and standing in the tub!

9 months and she started standing during bath time making it impossible to put her in anything but the real tub. As long as they are a good sitter (which G was at 5 months) then the regular bathtub should be fine.
Just never leave them unattended and keep the water level below belly buttons.
We haven't used ours since he was 4.5 months. We just supported his head/neck and let him float/kick in the regular tub until he could sit up on his own. He loves having all the room to splash around in.
We started at about 4 months in the big tub laying on one of those foam pads you can get from target. She loved it immediately and still does. Here is a pic:
0 months. We never had an infant tub. We used the sink for a couple weeks and then moved right into the big tub. We did have a mesh angle thing so that she wasn't lying flat in the water, but I saw no use for spending the money on an infant tub and we didn't have room for one anyway.

We still use the infant tub but DS sits up in it. I just feel more secure with it supporting him, since sometimes he falls over trying to reach for a toy or something. I bought a non-skid mat to put in the big tub and plan to switch him soon but haven't felt ready to try yet. Maybe with his next bath...

We've never used an infant tub. We us a mesh seat in the regular tub, and we switched to a bath seat they sit in for DD around 6.5 months (she had been sitting unassisted for a few weeks). We'll do the same with DS. Then we just let her be in the tub without anything when she started crawling, about 7.5 months, again, we'll do the same with DS.
We moved him to the big bath tub at about 6.5 months when he was sitting really well on his own. We bought a non skid mat thing that goes in the bottom when he's in there so he doesn't slip around. He loves chasing his toys in the big tub.

Us too. We have always used the big tub for his baths. We would do what delphinus described where he was laying down (on a thick diaper like burp cloth) with just a little bit of water (like an inch or 2) and we washed him, drained the water, and then re-filled with fresh water to rinse.
We dont have a big bath tub so we just started giving her a bath in the sink. If we had a big bath tub I would have started giving her a bath in the big tub when she was about 3 months old.
3 1/2 months, I think... She started flipping out of the infant tub, so I moved her to the kitchen sink. I really need to move her to the big tub soon, but I keep putting it off because I want to save my back.
