getting spit up smell out of clothes

there are a couple sleepers that I just cannot get that smell out of.  I have washed them twice and even sprayed them w/ stain stuff.  The smell makes me want to barf.  It's like a set in spit up smell, it's awful.  Any suggestions?

Re: getting spit up smell out of clothes

  • I started using hot, not warm water on all of LOs clothes.  It seemed to help.

  • I use Zout spot treatment, and it is awesome! If you can soak a cup of Borax and a quarter cup of detergent in hot water with the laundry overnight that should do it. I volunteer for a center and get donated clothing to wash at home and this often does the trick!
  • A friend told me she soaks LO's in vinegar before washing and it does the trick.  I haven't tried it yet so I can't tell you for sure though!
