I don't get pillow pets

What is the appeal? I didn't even think that DS knew what they were, but we were in Kohl's last night and he started screeching that he wanted one when we saw them -- he even knew they were called Pillow Pets.

It's a big pillow, right? Does it do something? I dragged him away from the display before I could investigate, but it looked just like an overpriced pillow to me.

We have one that my DD got for her birthday. It isn't that exciting, but what kid's toy is? She loves it and sleeps with it every night.

It's a big stuffed animal that you can flatten out and sleep on like a pillow, or fold up and be a big stuffed animal. That's it. My DS has been going nuts for one for months, MONTHS.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound like I was criticizing people who bought them. Lord knows I've bought DS toys that seemed downright dumb to me. I just had never seen them except for on here, and last night was the first time I ever saw one in a store.

It gets my kid into bed at night and falling asleep by himself for the first time in 4.5 years. I'd pay a LOT more than $20 for it given that. LOL

Yet another one whose kid LOVES hers. She has faithfully slept with her unicorn for two months since she got it for her birthday. You can buy with with a coupon from BB&B.

DS learned of them from daycare. One of the other kids brings one for naptime instead of a blanket. He threw quite the temper tantrum in Target the other day wanting one.

I showed one to my DS at the store the other day. Zero interest. But then again, it doesn't have wheels or involves throwing/hitting a ball so how much fun could they be?

Apparently, you are not 4. It is clear that if you are 4, they are the bomb. Yes, it is just a pillow that looks like a stuffed animal when you close it up. We own 2 and are giving 2 for Christmas.

Stupid Nest

My kids really do love their...DS carries it around with him all morning. I think it's because it's super soft.

I meant to add that my only gripe is that DD wanted the purple unicorn and it is so freakin' tacky/ugly...but the foulness of the unicorn is somewhat offset by the cute brown puppy one DS chose.
