Adalyn will only drink water from her sippy cup, but when it comes to milk, she will take a few drinks, and then she is done. I am still weaning her from breastfeeding so I nurse her only in the morning and supper and she gets 2 bottles of organic whole milk during the day. We tried the sippy cup after breakfast this morning. She took a few sips and was done. I feel like if I give in and give her the bottle, she will never want the sippy cup! Is it ok to not force the sippy and what she does get from it is sufficient? I know food is the main nutrition in her diet now. I understand she will do it on her own time but I'm getting a little nervous and just wanted to read some suggestions! I just like hearing that I am not the only one dealing with this!
Re: How do I get LO to take milk from her sippy?
I'm in the same boat

We have had the same problem. My dd would take whole milk from a bottle but when we dropped bottles she started refusing milk all together. So far we've tried different sippy cups (straw vs. regular ones, different shapes/colors). We've also tried flavoring the milk with a little strawberry syrup (which she hated). She'll usually take one sip of milk at each meal and that's it.
We've been trying to give her lots of yogurt, she doesn't like cheese, so we have limited options.
I'm no help! Just know you are not alone! My little guy looks at me like I have two heads when I put milk in the sippy! LOL
How about teaching her to suck through a straw? We did that and then bought her straw sippies and she took to it like a duck in water.
It seems like we have spent a small fortune in sippy cups! Trying different styles, handles, colors, etc. we finally found some she likes. We have a sports bottle with a straw and she LOVES drinking our water from that. When it comes to one of her cippy cups with a straw, she just bites it! She LOVES yogurt and cheese so we will continue to make sure she is still getting enough dairy until she will eventually cave in and like milk in her cup! Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated!
I was still BFing at night when I switched DS to whole milk. I did not stress about how much he drank. At first, it was only a few sips. I gave him yogurt with every meal, and I mixed milk or BM with his oatmeal. Over the course of a few weeks, he started drinking a few ounces with each meal. He still is not a big milk drinker, but I don't worry about it.
