Mine is an attorney...well he will be once he finds a job (he just passed the bar)
Congratulations! That's a victory for both of you.
DH is an attorney too. As am I, so all our stories are boring to each other.
To Jennifer: He'll find a job! It was a frustrating wait for my DH after we passed the bar, because it took him over 6 months to find a good, full-time job. I'll keep my fingers crossed for him! Congrats!
To Procrastinating: We're both attorneys too. And, while my stories are boring (I'm in corp. law), DH's stories are highly entertaining...he's in crim defense What do you two practice?
DH is in corporate - he deals w/ government investigations into pharmaceutical companies. VERY dull.
I'm in public policy right now for a nonprofit, but I used to be in insurance defense litigation. That was a little more interesting than what I do now.
My family was amused-slash-horrified that I got together with another lawyer - I think they thought I was marrying the male version of me! At first, I think they thought we'd argue all the time, b/c we both like arguing, but now they realize we don't argue all the time. We like arguing, but not THAT much.

Legal and Procrastinating: Hi! I'm an attorney too (but I married an "outsider"), and was just excited to see other attorneys on here.

Hahah I'm an attorney too, so I can totally relate. Although I do bankruptcy and foreclosure, so when he was clerking doing PI his stories were always better than mine hahah.
Henry - Born October 1, 2011
Baby #2 - Due August 30, 2013!
My DH is a respiratory therapist. We do the same thing and work in the same department. There are evenings were I give him report about patients. He works nights as some of you know and I work days.

Thanks! That's what I keep telling him. It took me about 4 months after passing to find something too. So many firms these days seem to be hiring w/o a salary...you get what you bring in. That makes me nervous b/c I'd much rather have a steady salary to rely on (especially with all the student loan debt!)

My H is also a police officer. He does all their trainging of new employees, fire arms training, and defensive tactics. He also teaches defensive tactics at the local CC academy in the summers.

My DH was in the Marines, since then he is taking advantage of the GI Bill and going back to school, getting a business degree in IT/Real Estate. I?m his sugar momma! (hopefully that will be over with sooner rather then later!!)

Fellow sugar momma here. MH is doing a Masters of Theological Studies at SMU right now and will graduate in May. Then it's on to the five year PhD program. My goal is that he has a full time job before he's 30. lol

LMAO. I met DH in law school and everyone warned us not to marry another attorney. So much so, that one of our professors mentioned us by name in his graduation speech because we failed to heed his warnings.
It's funny how it works tho. Attorneys love to argue, but for some reason they don't ever seem to argue with each other if they get married. Maybe we're argued out by the end of the day
Insurance defense sounds like it would be really interesting. I'm in Mich. so we have no-fault auto here, and I'd love to see some of their litigations first-hand.
It was fun but very draining. My current job is much better for my quality of life (well, most of the time - this time of year, my current job is pretty much 24/7 too, unfortunately).

Mine works at Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad (BNSF) and is currently finishing his degree. We hope to open a little sporting goods store in CO someday
