Chart interpreters, come in...

 https://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/27d3b8

Up until this morning, FF gave me CH for CD 18 with a + OPK on CD 18, 19, and 20.

Now, with this morning's temp, it changes my CH to CD 20.

If I remove the + OPK for CD 19 and 20, it puts my CH back to CD 18, so that means (I guess) that the temps show a more clear shift on CD 18 until the OPK results change FF's "mind."

What are your thoughts?  FWIW, I had an u/s on Monday the 15th (CD 15) and I had a follicle measuring 19-20 and dr. suspected I would ovulate that night or next morning (which I did not).

I am leaning toward CD 20, except the chart looks weird with CH on CD 20... but given the + OPKs, it's probably true, which would *most likely* put us out for this cycle.

Thanks for looking. :)

  • I think CD 18 looks more realistic.. but I admit it has been awhile since I chart stalked

  • Hmmm- I think CD18 looks good - it was the temp drop with a following rise.  I never did OPKs though, I don't think I ever trusted that I would get an accurate reading out of them.  The mature folli also makes me think CD18.  I guess I would say, don't count yourself out - but keep the discrepancy in mind.

Let me add the other + OPK and take a look at what it looks like with CH on CD 20.  I know charts don't have to be pretty, but it just doesn't look right to me (although, with my luck, it's probably definitely right).

  • CD18 still looks more realistic to me.

  • Ok, thanks ladies. I know it doesn't matter at this point really, what's done is done (or not done - lol). It's more for my own knowledge since I'm keeping track of my luteal phase defect.  If my LP is abnormally long this cycle, I'll know better that I probably O'd on CD 20.  We shall see.

  • What's with he open circle on Sunday? I think you should put all info in and see what happens in the next few days.

I woke up an hour late to temp on that day, so my real temp may have been slightly lower than the one it's showing.

  • I could see it either way.  That open circle is probably what messes things up.

Can you do the temp adjuster and see what happens?

  • I think you are right about cd20.  The 2 temps on cd19 and 20 are no higher than the temps before cd18, so that does not show a shift for a cd18 O.

  • out of curiousity, why didn't your RE trigger you on cd15 when the follie was mature?

  • If you take a peek at my BFP chart (in siggy), I had a drop on CD20, but FF was going back and forth with 20 and CD25 for a few days once I had more fertile CM show up.  Now, I'm not saying that you didn't O on CD18 though. Just that you could have O'd on CD20, depending on what your next few temps look like.

And ditto CB's post - I would just include all of the information that you can and see what the next few days bring.

Oh, and there are lots of BFP charts on FF where folks had sex only 2 days before O :)

what about using the temp corrector?  Or I think you can just subtract 0.4 degrees and see what happens.

  • I think that is a tough one and I can see it both ways. Regardless I don't think that CD 20 takes this cycle out of the running since you had sex 2 days before (and every day before that). You are still in the window.

out of curiousity, why didn't your RE trigger you on cd15 when the follie was mature?

I'm not seeing an RE, just my regular OB/GYN. I haven't done any triggers to this point.  I've never had a problem ovulating, just a short LP, which is why I have medicated cycles.

This cycle has definitely been educational, though. Why I had a mature follie on CD 15 and didn't O until CD 20 possibly, I have no idea.  I called my OB and she said that follies can mature up to about 24-25 mm and at 30 they're considered a cyst.  Because I had an u/s on CD 11 and it measured 14mm, I averaged a growth of 1 mm per day, so she suspected I would continue at that growth rate.  Therefore, I would have been 24 mm on CD 20 (or 22 mm on CD 18), still within healthy range.

I tried lowering that temp manually and it all boils down to the OPKs.  If I keep just one positive OPK, my CH stay at CD 18.  If I put the extra positive OPK in, it moves the CH to CD 20 regardless of what that open circle changes to.

  • Hold the phone.... I just put in a temp that is 0.4 lower on that open circle day and then it takes away the CH all together.  So I added an additional high temp for tomorrow and then it tells me I O'd on CD 21.  LOL. I'm over this shiznit.  We'll just see what happens. :)
