  Barrett is my husband's favorite boy's name too. He is a gun enthusiast, so I'm betting that is where he came up with it. I think it is a strong name, but I'm on the fence about it.

  I love the names Barrett and Garrett (Garrick too). however, I doubt I will ever name my children any of those because of nicknames. 

  Barrett & Garrett rhyme with carrot and could also easily be Barry or Gary.

  Garrick could be Gary or Rick.

  I like Barrett, but I don't think Thomas flows well as a mn.  Too many Ts.  There are 3 Ts in a row!

  I really like it. I had a Barrett as a student and he was a solid, sweet, little guy. He didn't have a nn so I don't think it's necessary.

  I love the name Barrett.  It's a family name for me, and it's my oldest son's middle name.  I had no idea there was any kind of gun association with it.
