How do you surface clean a fuzzy/furry stuffed animal?

I'm assuming the water will make the fur clump and it won't be as soft when I dry it.

Any tips?

I machine wash all of DDs stuffed animals and they come out as good as new.

I agree with PP.. through them in the machine- I dry them on a low heat setting in the dryer. They come out nice and fluffy!

I throw mine in a pillow case and throw in the wash machine...no problems!
