Jameson? I love this name for a boy, but my SIL thinks it sounds feminine. She also thinks that Lyndon is better as a girls name. Lyndon I can almost understand because the base is Lyn, but the beginning of Jameson is James, which is clearly a boy's name.

Not sure where to go from here.
there are some folks who are obsessed with giving girls boys' names.
there are some folks who think any name that isn't actively some sort of phallic representation (Gunn, Ryder, Colt, Iron, Spike, etc.) are 'feminine'.
could be you're dealing with either, or both.
Um, yeah, THIS!!!!

Jameson is definitely a boy's name- I know a little boy with this name, I think it's cute. NOT for a girl, no way.
I've heard Lyndon for a girl but it's spelled Linden. I think that names sounds feminine and I like it for a girl's name.
