Is it normal? And It might be stupid....

So I am almost 8 weeks and I seriously can feel where the baby is located at.. Not that he/she is moving but I feel something on my right side....Hmm

Re: Is it normal? And It might be stupid....

  • Seeing as how the uterus is still tucked way down there, it's doubtful you are feeling it on your side. I guess anything is possible though.
  • Loading the player...
  • sorry let me rephrase its not my side its my lower stomach... It's hard to explain.... Thanks though!!
  • um...ok. There's no way what you're feeling is baby-related (baby or ute). You might want to get that checked out...
"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind." - Kurt Vonnegut
  • If what you're feeling is about three inches below your pubic line, then absolutely!

  • I'm pretty sure your baby is the size a lima bean.  I know I would not be able to feel a lima bean in my stomach.

  • It could be an organ or a part of intestine that you normally wouldn't feel as it could have moved a little bit as a result of your uterus expanding.  Very unlikely that its the baby though - you still have some time before that happens.

  • I would say gas or organs moving. The gas I have been having makes my lower stomach move around a bit like it did when I would see the baby move with #1. Something that never happened with #1 but is this time around. It is a big freaky!

This was my thought as well. It's very doubtful that what you're feeling is the baby this early on...

Your profile says you are a jewelry store manager. Are you still in med school or residency as well?

  • Your baby is small, but your uterus is growing to make room.  Yes you are going to feel it if not now then soon.  When I was 6 weeks I was told by my dr that I had the uterus the size of a 13 week pregnancy, and I definitely felt it.  If you are concerned then go ahead and call your dr, but I bet it is just your uterus.

Did you not see the Stick out tongue she put after her statement?  Obviously she wasn't serious.

But with your 1 post, maybe it wasn't obvious to you because you have lurked as long as you've been posting.

  • Wow. Just wow. My doctor at 12 weeks stated that it is IMPOSSIBLE to feel a baby even at 12 weeks. Not unlikely, not rare, but IMPOSSIBLE. Did I mention she said IMPOSSIBLE?

As others have said you may feel organs shifting or discomfort of ligaments etc but you are not feeling the baby and that comes from my doctor, K? I know you reallllly want to believe you can feel it and Hollywood whoever is willing to let you continue to think that because we all don't have medical degrees, but impossible is impossible. Of course, if it's ectopic or has some other thing going on then you may be feeling that.

I have felt the same things, or very similar to what you describe. I promise it is not the baby. I know that sucks because it's cool to feel like you can feel it but it's not the baby.

She's said she's not feeling it move.  She just feels something there.  Not baby movement.

  • Exactly!! Thank you!! It's only when im bending over or sitting down... And plus the doctors say that all pregnancies are different.
  • I'm aware of what she said. She's not feeling the baby there. She may feel ligaments or organs or something else but it's not the baby. Like I said, I've felt the same thing. I asked about what it was. I told you the response I got from my doctor. Get it?

They are indeed all different, however the developmental timeline is very similar. Obviously you only want to hear "SQUEE it's the baby" so good luck on that. Did you not read my whole post where I said I have felt the same thing as you describe? Go ask your doctor since you're so unwilling to believe anything but your own opinion even though YOU ASKED others the question. Why ask if you only want one answer?

I know, I know. Shame on me for bursting her bubble. I forgot I was on 1st tri where uneducated people come to ask questions and then get upset when they don't get the answer they want. (not all are uneducated here but it sure does happen a lot.)

  • That isnt obviously all I wanted to hear..... And I didn't say I didn't believe you. Sorry you thought that. I was just stating what I was feeling.... But thanks for your advice and I am going to talk to my doctor about it just in case it could be something else..

  • I didnt even get upset!! I just clearly stated what I was feeling. Why is that so hard to understand. And Yes I am a little uneducated due to the fact this is my first pregnancy after my first m/c. So I am sorry. And if you don't like what I have to say then stay off my blogs. It's not cool to start stuff when all I am wanting is some info.

  • I had this with both pregnancies and it was where the baby implanted.  No, I did not feel the baby, but I had a cyst there both times (that caused pain and bleeding at different stages w. both pregnancies) and it was pinpointed with ultrasounds.

  • this is always a touchy subject as people who feel things say they do and others get mad or disapointed because they cant. I think everyone is different. I say you can probably feel your ute as the baby is too small to feel. Im 9 weeks and I already have a mini baby bump. Not bloat this has passed and gone and can defiantly feel the ue bump below my belly button. However we are still waiting for our first ultrasound and we may be further along than expected. But so far 9 weeks baby's home is defiantly feelable and when I sit or lean forward I too can feel an addition where the baby would be growing
