FF- how many bottles?

FF, how many bottles do you actually have?  We have 8, and that does not seem like enough.  How many do you have and how often do you end up putting them in the dishwasher?

Thanks!!

Re: FF- how many bottles?

  • I have 9 bottles but 1 stays in the diaper bag at all times. So we regularly use 8. I hand wash all of them throughout the day. I am totally grossed out by dirty bottles just sitting around.

  • We have 10, and I make four in the morning and then four in the afternoon/evening and wash 2 times per day (or more if I feel like it). I run them through the dishwasher once per week, and sterilize once per week sometimes too. Otherwise I just wash with hot water/soap.

  • We have 22, 11 in 4oz and 11 in 8 oz.  We handwash bottles every night just before we go to bed.  We've never put them in the dishwasher because our dishwasher kind of sucks.

  • I have 7.  I wash them after I use them.  I also stick them in a sterilizing bag (microwave) once a week.
  • We have 11. I wash bottles with hot/soapy water once a day and run them through the dishwasher with a sanitize cycle once a week.

  • I have 6, and mix formula in a pitcher every morning. I just hand wash the bottle as soon as he's done, I'm afraid of it getting moldy.  Because I'm OC about some of my dishes, I don't use the dishwasher all that often.

Either way, I could probably get away with 2 bottles.

  • We have 9 bottles. We pretty much hand wash and/or use the dishwasher as needed. Once thing I love about my dishwasher is that it has a top rack only feature, so I can do a load of just bottles if I need to!
  • We have 13.  I usually run the dishwasher once a day, but sometimes not, so I didn't want to have to hand wash.  I haaaaaate hand washing dishes.  She only uses 7 a day.

  • We've got 14, 8 ounce bottles. We hand wash and sanitize bottles twice a day. We also make formula in 2 Dr. Brown's pitchers twice a day. When the dishwasher is full we'll put dirty bottles in but that doesn't happen all the time. Keep in mind I've got 2 hungry mouths to feed which is why all the washing and formula prep. I'd say the more bottles the better.

  • I have 8 and rinse when done then wash and sterilize when i'm down to one so i'm only doing it once a day and it seems to be working well for me so far.

  • I only have 4 and that's fine for me. I wash by hand after they soak in almost boiling water.

  • we have 9 8oz bottles, I wash dishes every day so the bottles just get stuck on the top rack.
  • Believe it or not, we have 3.  I just always wash it after she drinks one.  (Although I guess this might not work after I go back to work.  I doubt my husband will be so on top of things when it comes to dishes)
  • thanks everyone.  what a range.  My husband and I hate washing dishes, that is what a dishwasher is for!!  we have a top rack only/half load which sterlizes every time.  She takes 7-8 bottles a day.  I am thinking of just getting 2-3 more so we have some extra for my diaper bag.

    Thanks for all the input!!

  • Seven; 4 ounce bottles. Rinse and soak after every use. Wash with soapy hot water and dry when they are all dirty. We have dr. Brown pitcher too... love it.

  • I love Dr Browns bottles and if you buy the newborn feeding kit you get 4 4oz bottles and 3 8oz bottles with cleaning brushes, different stage nipples and caps for $25 at babies r us. Shes 4 months and I still use these. I wash and soak them right after using so they don't stink!
