It's all about pirates! Where it came from- I dunno, maybe it all started with the Pirates of the Carribean movies?
Regardless ds LOVES it and a quite a bit of his wardrobe has skulls and crossbones (he also only wants to dress in monotone dark jeans, grey and black but that's a whole other story, LOL.) He likes it, there's no harm in it and he's awfully cute so I figure why not?
Well James loves pirates and skull and cross bones so a large portion of his clothes and hats have them on there. I think they are cute. Not the Gymboree ones-those are usually creepy looking, but I think the stuff from Gap and Boden with skull and cross bones is super cute.
I think it is cute, I love when DS looks like a little skater boy.
Me too, lol. I don't normally shop there and actually really dislike the store, but someone took ds to Kohl's recently and he discovered their Tony Hawk line of boys' clothes. He loves it and has been obsessed with getting more of it. MIL bought him several more t-shirts and a couple of sweatshirts for Christmas. In between the skull/crossbone stuff and now the Tony Hawk kiddie clothes he's totally rocking the skater look these days. It's super cute, IMO.

The Shaun White line at Target is pretty rocking, too. I also spied some skull/crossbone christmas jammies there that I'm pretty sure are going to come live with us.

I hate it! It is incredibly annoying as your boys get bigger and that is all there is to chose from. You can't even buy a plain polo for a boy in elementary school sometimes. I don't mind rock and roll stuff, but I don't think skulls and crossbones have any place on a 5-8 y/o's clothing, IMO.
I'm so conflicted about this. So far Ds has had a set of trunks w/a simple skull pattern and I've got a set of p.j.s waiting for him with a simple pattern too.
In a way its cute, but I always feel slightly weird about him wearing the stuff because it seems a little morbid.
I refuse to buy him anything that has more than a very simple, very 2D, rendering of a skull and crossbones silhouette, though. If they get real looking or girtty at all I'm out.
