Sleep training, hello old friend...

Yep, we are going to need to start sleep training again soon. Not only is Tristan about to turn 8 months but the other critical milestone is that he has outgrown his swing. The swing was the key to day time naps when he was 2 months and up until now, we would do 1 nap a day on weekends or at least start him off in the swing and transition to the crib. Now he is so heavy he barely swings in it and usually falls asleep from boredom. I am dreading the whole process. The last time we sleep trained we got in to a big tiff with our neighbor because we live in a high rise with shared walls. I think we are just going to have to suck it up, have a talk with the crazy neighbor and the property manager and tough it out. I think timing is key, we will probably do this after the Thanksgiving holiday. It will be tough since we will be returning from a trip where he will co-sleeping with us but we have to do this

    Does he sleep in his crib at night?

    Just wanted to say that we had a GREAT experience with sleep training. I know you hear horror stories out there, so we are the flip side of that coin. Most days Sydney goes down for her naps without as much as a wimper. Some days she cries for 30 seconds or so. Rarely we have days that she cries, but they are few and far between. Nighttime she is asleep as soon as I lay her down.

    I think talking to your neighbors ahead of time is a great idea. Just so they know what's up and that it won't last forever.

    Buy the neighbor a nice bottle of wine and some earplugs and tell him/her that it will only last a few days.

    I think that's a great idea.

    Though I have to be honest, when Aaron was a screaming newborn I prayed he would wake our downstairs neighbors because they used to keep us up with fights. Thankfully they've moved.
