I saw on the news this evening that a dad was shot in front of a pre-school just after he dropped his son off this morning. The scary part of it is that it happened in my town, just a few doors down from where we have music class on Thursday mornings. Thank goodness our session ended last week and we're off for a couple of weeks.

They don't know who shot him and said on the news that they don't think it was a random shooting. I consider where we live to be a very safe place and I can't believe this happened. I'll be following the story to see how it unfolds. So scary because it happened just after 9:00 and our class starts at 9:30 and we were usually there early.

That is super scary. I had the same kind of thing happen to me when I was nannying. The girl took Piano lessons about a 1/2 mile from her house in Oakland - not the ghetto of Oakland either - every Wednesday. The Thursday morning after her second lesson a little boy was shot outside the piano lesson building. She didn't want to go to piano lessons anymore, so we cancelled them. She was super distraught about it.
