There are signs plastered all over my OB, Perri/RE, Genetics office saying no children are allowed. I get it and respect it. What I don't understand are people who break the rule. The policies are there for a reason.
If no kids are allowed, then that means don't bring your kid.
Kaiser has a "no children" at the big u/s policy. My friend took her 5 year old with her to hers. :::sigh::: She said "I know it says no kids, but my DH was working and MIL was in school". She has 3 older kids (up to 17) that could have watched the 5 year old.
The only possible question I would have to that would be what about newborns who are in a carseat pretty much the whole time. That said, if I know my kid isn't allowed I don't think that rule applies to everyone but me - if he's not allowed then that's that.
I wish ours had a no kids policy but we are trying to be family friendly. I go home to my baby to get away from the constant SCREAMING, yes that needed all caps, that goes on here all.day.long. At least twice a day someone's toddler screaches through an anatomy ultrasound. The whole thing. I know because the ultrasound room is right across the room from my office. It is not only annoying but it makes it hard for the tech to do her job. Once a baby, about 11 months or so, maybe right at a year, fell out of their stroller and whacked their head on the floor in the middle of mom's anatomy scan. Because seriously, if there is no one to watch the kid, WTF?
That's a tough one. While my OB office has no rules regarding this, I have no choice but to bring DD anyways. My DH works very unpredictable hours. We live almost 2 hours away from any close family to watch her, and being very new in this area and with the random fainting issues that DD has, we have no one we feel comfortable with watching her.
That said, if I were in that situation, I would at least make sure she sat quietly in my lap with a book/snack, and not run around like a crazy girl.

Yes. I think the NB is allowed at the OB, but not the others.
