I love the name Marin. When I was a camp counselor, there were sisters named Maeve, Amelia, and Marin that were so adorable (and I love those names).
Daphne is cute - a friend from HS just named her daughter that.
Quinn is one of those that could go either gender - I know one girl Quinn who is my age and 2 baby boy Quinns. It makes me think of the cheerleader on Glee.
Meredith is probably my least favorite of the names, only because it's a difficult one for a nickname. I know some people aren't into nicknames, but I am.
I like Quinn. Daphne is pretty, but I'm pretty sure it's a character in Scooby Doo...although maybe kids don't even watch Scoopy Doo anymore they wouldn't even know.
I like Daphne but all I can think of is Scooby Doo. Meredith is cute. I thought about Marin too, but it's a little odd with our last name. Quinn is NMS. I like names that are definitely one gender.
I completely commiserate with the fact that naming baby #2 has been impossibly hard for us too. Good luck.

I love Meredith (especially since it's my name!) , I think the only other I like is Marin, it's NMS, but not a bad name. I'm not too fond of Quinn or Daphne myself.
I will say that my name, for nicknames, I've gotten Mery, Mer, "M" as nicknames, though I prefer my full name.
Meredith: Fine name that you don't hear too much anymore. This is my favorite on your list.
Daphne: Despite being a huge Frasier fan I have never liked this name. It seems to be making a comeback though because I am hearing it more often and know two Daphne's under 2.
Quinn: I still think boy when I hear this. I like it on a boy, not so much on a girl.
Marin: I go back and forth on this one. l.m.k. nailed my feelings about it. Something about it doesn't feel like a "name" to me.
I love Maryn. I actually prefer the spelling Marian (as in Maid Marian from Robin Hood.) Every time I tell someone I like that name, they look at me like I have three heads. I guess not everyone has heard of it before.

That's interesting to me. Maybe I am misreading Marin?
I read Marin/Maren/Maryn as a two-syllable word pronounced like the name of a female horse (mare) and the word 'in' (i.e mare-in). Whereas Marian is a three-syllable word (Mary-in).
Maybe I misunderstood the pronunciation of Marin? If so I change my vote to Marin. But I would never read 'Marin' as a three-syllable word. Maybe I am strange in this?
I loved Marian for our girl name but DH wasn't on board.

Or maybe I am. I thought Marian (as I remember it from the Robin Hood story) was pronounced "mare-in"...same as Marin, Maren, Maryn. I guess I thought Marion was "mary-in." Hmmm...I'm not so sure now and have totally confused myself. And am basing this all on a childhood memory of a story.

You are correct that it's a two syllable word (pronounced like Erin with an M on the front). I used to babysit a Maryn and there is an actress named Marin Hinkle--both pronounced it as a two syllable word.

I'm pretty sure Sarah Jessica Parker named one of her twin girls Marion. I think it's a pretty name, and I prefer the spelling Marian.
I think Marin/Maryn is mare-in, and Marion/Marian is mary-in.
Re: How do you feel about these girl names:
I love both Meredith and Daphne. Daphne seems almost ethereal to me, I love it the most. Meredith was on our short list of names if we had had a girl.
The other two are not my style.

I actually like all of them. I was on the fence about Marin, but the more I said it, the more I liked it.
We like Delaney for a girl.. similar to Daphne. Just another suggestion.
Oh and I think Daphne Quinn is pretty as a FN/ MN

I have a friend who spells her name Mehrin instead of Maryn. Either way it's a different name you don't hear very often.
