TTC After a Loss

ruptured cyst question

I know that some bumpies were discussing ruptured ovarian cysts a few weeks ago.  At the time, I wasn't paying much attention because while I have had ovarian cysts in the past, I had never had any rupture.  Well, I did yesterday, and I would first like to say OUCH!!  That sucked!

My question is, do you know if a ruptured cyst affects TTC?  This is our first month back TTC and I am concerned.  Do you think (or know if) this will make this cycle a dud? Sorry if this is a dumb question, tried to google but came up with alot of symptoms/treatments and not much related to TTC. TIA!

Re: ruptured cyst question

  • It shouldn't effect your follies now.

I know the last one I had ruputre put me in the ER and 4 days later I found out I was pregnant.

I hope you don't have to go thru that again.

  • Sometimes (I think most times), a ruptured cyst mid cycle means that you're ovary released an egg..Cysts form because they are mature follicles. So in a way, it actually helps TTC! Also, there are other types of cysts that can occur at other times of your cycles (non functional cysts)..but for the most part, a ruptured cyst (although painful), shouldn't affect TTC..Good luck!

  • Other than the misery that you got the pleasure of experiencing that day I think you should be ok.
