What position is your baby in?

I have been going every two weeks for follow up anatomy scans because this little one is in an oddball position and just refuses to move. She is in a breech frank position. Her head is on my right side, and butt on my left. She is folded in half and facing my spine. She refuses to move. Is anybody elses baby very comfortable and refusing to get with the program?

At the last u/s (I was 24 weeks), LO was head down, and based on the movement I've been feeling, I'm pretty sure he still is. I feel small movements down low and on my right and left sides sometimes, but all the big kicks have been way up near my ribs.

These girls move a lot! Both were head down at my u/s today. They were almost spooning.

Baby B has really enjoyed hanging out right under my ribs lately and will sit there for hours sometimes.

Well thats good news that they are ready to go! Are you planning a vaginal birth or a c-section?

I feel movement in the exact same places. I go in again on the 10th of Dec. to see a new midwife. I plan to ask her if she knows what position our boy is in.

Are you having any ultrasounds done? I see a lot of people talking about baby being up in their ribs, but I know or a fact that my uterus is like right on line with my belly bottom. Ihavea lot of braxton hicks so everytime it gets hard I can tell where it is. All of the research I have been doing says that a baby in this position are usually born via c-section, however a lot of time babies turn during labor to be head down. Good luck in December!

Well thats good news that they are ready to go! Are you planning a vaginal birth or a c-section?

We are playing it by ear for now. It's probably going to come down to the final few weeks before we'll know. I'm ok with a C-section, but I'm hoping for a vaginal delivery. There's still too much that can change between now and then.

At my last u/s the baby was breech which I had guessed from the kicks. By that evening I was sure he had flipped again. I'm not going to worry for quite awhile about what position he's going to end up in.

From what I have been feeling as far as movement goes I think LO's butt is on the left and head on right. It seems he is in there diagonally. When I have my 20wk u/s he was lying horizontally with his butt on my left and head on my right but I do know he has flipped a couple times since then.

I think this guy is sideways. I always feel him pushing out my right side, then can feel him all the way across to the left. However, he's still got lots of room so he's regularly bouncing around.

I won't worry about it until 32 weeks or whenever they start paying attention to whether they're head down.

My baby boy is laying just like your baby. His head is under my right rib and his butt is on my lower left side. I don't think we should worry though. The baby can flip all the way up to the mid to late 36-37 weeks. As big as they seem to be, there is plenty of room for our little munchkins to move about in there.

There are some exercises you can do to try to get her to move. Who knows if they'll work, but worth a shot. Some babies get stuck in one position and even if they want to move head down instinctually, they really can't. Google "how to get a baby to turn head down" and try to wiggle that baby loose!

my little guy was breech at 20 wk u/s and at a 25 wk u/s they did he was transverse.... I think he is still transverse based on his kicks and stuff.

but my doc keeps tellin me not to worry, if he is stubborn on being in the wrong position we will try to flip him.

I'm not sure if I'm having another u/s. I'm seeing a new midwife and I'm not sure what her protocols are. However, I know most women have one in the last couple of weeks to check the measurement and position of baby. I'm not too worried about it yet as my previous midwife said that babies can change positions often and not to worry until the few weeks before my due date. I'm sure your baby will shift in time, but if not, a c-section isn't the end of the world. I'm preparing for a med-free birth, but I'm open to medical intervention if it means saving me and the baby, so if a c-section is needed I've prepared myself to accept that.

I totally agree. I am all for the pain meds, and not against a c-section. I'm just a bit of a control freak and like to know things in advance. I know I have at least one more ultrasound at 32 weeks because I had shingles at 14 weeks so we are keeping an eye on her growth. Ultimately whatever my doc suggests is the route we will take. Did you get a new midwife because you weren't satisfied with the first? They tried to start me seeing a different OB inthe office, but I'm back to the first now, so ho knows which one will actually be delivering our baby.

I'm seeing a new midwife due to a provider change. My husband is starting a new job, I was under his insurance through his previous employer. We weren't sure where he would be working so I signed up for my employer's insurance. I've heard a lot of really great things about my new midwife. I'm excited to meet her! I loved my midwife with my previous provider, but I don't have a choice in seeing her anymore =(

I have no idea what position my LO is in I just know that the majority of the movement I feel is really low and across the width of my pelvis, and I know that he likes to push out on the right side sometimes where I can feel like the full length of his little body if I touch it.

Basically, I was told at this stage a lot of stuff is normal...baby will move later.

20 weeks: Last u/s baby was down (or at least not breech).

26.5 weeks: Nurse practitioner felt and measured my uterus, and thought the head was diagonally down to the left, and feet were on the right side. Made sense based on the kicks, although now I'm feeling more movement on the other side.

There are definately worse reasons out thee to be changing in the middle of things. Hopefully she is great!

Breech, probably. She was laying this way at my last few ultrasounds and I usually feel hard kicks down low.. it seems to be her favorite postition. Hopefully she gets with the head down program at the end of my pregnancy!

Mine always kicks me in the vag which is pretty funny, really just above the hair line, so I'm guess he's breach for now but I've still got 3 months to go so i'm not worried.

I read somewhere that about the 27th week they start to stay put until near the end. good luck!
