Aaron had his 15 month well visit today and it went quite well. First the stats:
26 lb 9 oz (75th percentile, down from 90th)
32-1/2" (90th percentile, same as 12 month)
I asked about the drop of weight percentile but she was actually OK that it had. It
wasn't TOO much of a drop and he still gained weight (just over 1 lb)
since 12 months. We are, however, supposed to stop with the bottle. I'm
going cold turkey with afternoon this week. Then no AM bottle this
coming weekend. Lord help us.
His pedi asked how many words he spoke but I didn't ask her how many he SHOULD have (he's at around 40). And I was pleased to say he just started walking.
She did ask us if he scribbled with crayons and we were like we only just tried this last week. She said it was good for fine motor skills. And she also asked if he liked books but we didn't ask why. We asked a few questions (he still has an umbilical hernia, and he has super dry skin that seems like eczema but it isn't) and he had his MMR and HiB shots.
He cried after his shots but only for a minute or so. He's a little trooper.
Next visit in February at 18 months.
Re: 15 Month Well Visit & Stats
What a big boy you have. Glad to hear the visit went well.
Yay Aaron!
Our boys are so similar size-wise.

Sounds like he is doing great!
WHAT??? Can I bring Aaron instead of Matt to Matt's 18 month appointment?
About the words: to be honest, some of the words are animal sounds but he makes them to identify the animal, thus I counted them.
1. Mama
2. Dada
3. Nana (for both my MIL and my coworker, Ana)
4. Da Daw (the dog)
5. Moo (cow)
6. Baa (sheep)
7. Dibbit (ribbit for frog)
8. Up
9. Down
10. Dis (This)
11. Dat (That)
12. Ah Dun (all done)
13. Mahr (more)
14. Duck Duck (ducks)
15. Donnuh Duck (Donald Duck)
16. Lala (Elmo)
17. Hola
18. Agua
19. Baba (bottle)
20. Na Nok (he bangs on doors and says knock knock)
21. No
22. Hello
23. Nap Nap (why twice, I don't know, but that's for nap)
24. Bir (Bird)
25. Uh-oh
27. Kuh (cup)
28. Snack (sounds more like sna)
29. Key (Mickey Mouse)
30. Ma-la-lay (Marmalade, one of my brother's dogs)
31. Buh (Book)
32. Puh (Puffs)
33. Mill (Milk)
34. Meema (the name for my MIL's sister)
35. Papa (for my FIL)
36. Bubba (Other babies)
37. Mew (for cats, meowing)
So probably 37 words... and he doesn't use them all frequently. But he has said them more than once. Apparently I spoke at 9 months and was speaking in sentences (2 word) by 12 months. And I was a late walker (17 months), so Aaron comes by his chattiness naturally. lol

Are they allowed to play with crayons at this point? I think I'd rather get the etch a sketch. LOL...I'm sure she'd color all over everything & if I try to pry the crayon from her fingers she'll just flip out.
He's always blazed thru his height & weight you figure he's gotta start slowing down sometime.
Yeah... apparently so! I bought Aaron crayons last week. My pedi just said "make sure he doesn't eat them." LOL But he does scribble a bit. And I bought the washable ones (that you can wash off the walls or furniture). Crayola is non-toxic, too. (No clue re: other brands.)
As for his weight... it was 90/95th percentile from birth to 12 months. His height was 50th until 9 months, then it was 80th and 90th. So if one is going to drop, I'm glad it was the weight. I was just making sure they weren't worried. And since he still gained weight in the last 3 months (just a pound, but it's a gain), they're OK with it.
I think this time we finally asked all we wanted to. We only had 1 food question. Our pedi said no strawberries until 18 months but not why. Apparently it's to do with the acidity and rashes around the mouth. But not a worry re: allergies. So we can finally give him strawberry puffs and yogurt. Otherwise he can eat anything except for foods that make choke him (raw carrots, etc.), nuts and honey (until 18 months because of the botulism worry).

re: crayons. Be sure to have a magic eraser near by
Good luck with the saying bye to the bottle. I'm dreading that. Robby+Bottle=BFF
Sounds like a great appointment, Robyn! His vocabulary is amazing.
Big - 1 year old
Bigger - 6 years old
Biggest - 13 years old
Sounds like a great appointment! He is about as tall as Sarah but weighs 3 lbs more. They also started walking at about the same age.
Good luck leaving the bottle behind! We dropped it at 12 months and didn't have any issues, but we still have our ongoing food issues (she just doesn't like anything we eat and also doesn't want to be fed anymore).

Sounds like a great appt. Adrian is going to see the doc after Thanksgiving.
By dropping the bottle do you mean switching to sippy cups or reducing milk intake? Adrian is still doing 3 bottles a day, sometimes 2, and I don't see me taking his bottles away anytime soon, I don't care what the pedi says. I was drinking milk from bottles way into my 2's and it was fine. But that's me, I like to spoil him, oh well.
Man, he's a tall drink of water and completely adorable!
She probably was just mentioning the books in an offhand way to see if you were reading to him/offering him books. If you said, "no" she might have looked into it further.
Oh my! 7 and 20 are my favorite. SOOOOOO cute.
Yeah, I meant switching to sippy cups for milk. He'll take water from cups but not milk. He just won't. If he'd at least HOLD the bottle, I'd consider letting him continue. But he's lazy or just enjoys me or DH holding the bottle. And the only way he'll drink milk (which he loves IN a bottle) is if we hold it.
I'm dropping the afternoon one first (offering it to him in cups only). Then I'll drop the AM (after breakfast) one.
