  stacking blocks. educo has some really nice wooden ones that will go the distance. truitt still plays with these at 4, so they are a good investment.

  stacking bath cups

  pound and roll toy (my kids like the Melissa & Doug pound and roll tower a lot)

  animal or people figurines. i wish i could link easily from my mac b/c i have some great examples but Plan, Playmobil and M&D all have great ones
