gasping noise

My daughter (5mo.) has really started finding her voice and learning how to make sounds etc. But lately she has also started making this gasping sound when inhaling. She does it kind of a lot, usually when she is playing, making noise, happy etc. It doesnt seem to bother her, and she isnt in any sort of distress... but it is a scary sound. I am thinking I will call the pedi tomorrow just to be sure. But im curious if this is a common "baby sound" or if I should worry? Anybody else know anything about this? thanks

    My DS has done that twice now. The first time we were at a store and I guess maybe he saw something that made him excited and gasped really loud. It was so funny but I did freak out at first until I realized what he did.

    My DS was doing this all the time a couple weeks ago. Not so much now that he's discovered shrieking. Its AWESOME ;)

    Exactly this!  Nothing like hearing this on the monitor when shes laying in bed to really freak you out!  She thinks its the greatest noise ever this week! GL
