Warning stickers on Carseats...?!

I am so upset.  And I know many of you will think this is silly but it makes me  angry.

Yesterday was my first shower and I got both of my carseats for my twins.  (Graco Snugride 30/pink and 35/green).  I am very excited and fortunate to have been given these.  I was so excited that I have them I wanted to open them up and look at them today.  Now on every one that I have seen it has not had warnings on the actual padding of the carseat, but these have two screen printed on, right by where the face will be!

I know I am only upset because it looks tacky and I expect there will be plenty of pictures of them in their carseats and this makes me angry because like I said I have only seen all these warnings on the base of the unit and not on the padding by the head!  Did I get aimage weird one or are they all like this?  Just wanted to know if I should suck it up and shut up?!  LOLimage

Re: Warning stickers on Carseats...?!

  • everyone i've seen has them. it's so people are less likely to ignore the warnings, i guess?

i'm not sure how it looks tacky?? it's just part of the carseat.

  • This is what I figured.  I think it looks tacky that there is a bright yellow (my least favorite color too LOL) Warning sticker that is 6"x4" by their face.  Just bothers me.  I understand the necessity of warning stickers with children, because some people have no dea of the warnings, but I guess that is another bother.  I know the flipping warning of not putting a rear facing carseat in the front seat!

But oh well, I guess that is the way it is.  I'll just keep the top part up to kind of hide the part that bothers me.

  • You are not the only one annoyed...my combi carseat didn't show the big ol' warning in any of the photos, when I opened the car seat I also thought it looked very tacky.

  • Hmm

Really? You're worried that the safety stickers on your carseat won't look good in pictures? Because they are yellow? Then don't take pictures in their carseat. I've probably taken 200 pictures of my baby in the first month, and none in her carseat. (Plenty of pics of her in yellow, though!)

Or get a different carseat. Mine only has stickers on the base.

  • they put those stickers up there because otherwise people ignore them. It will not be as big of a deal as you think it is right now.

  • I'm not saying this to be rude, but get over it.  Seriously, those warning are there for a reason, there are a lot of idiots out there.  I wouldn't be worried about them being in pictures.  By the time your twins arrive you won't even remember the warning labels are there and those will be the last thing on your mind, trust me.  All the trivial stuff gets thrown out the window.

  • This is one of the most ridiculous complaints I have ever seen on here.

Tacky?  No.  Not tacky.  Smart.  They put them there for a reason.  Get over it.

You know that...and it may seem like an obvious requirement, but there are some straight up morons in this world that require things to be tattooed to their forehead before they understand. Hence the bright yellow warning sticker...and the warnings on McDonald's coffee cups that say "CAUTION, VERY HOT." Stick out tongue

When it comes down to it, a carseat is a safety device, not a photo prop. They're obnoxious, yes, but they're there for a darn good reason.

  • I totally understand what you mean. I dont think your comment is stupid at all! It idiots in this world who dont follow instructions and then sue the companies for their own stupidities that cause the rest of us to have something printed in bright colors on the front of something nice.

All of the carseats I've seen have them, unfortunately. A removable sticker would make more sense. It would still force people to read it, but could then be removed. You could try to Sharpie it out. Not sure if that will end up looking worse, but blacking it out would at least disguise it more than a bright yellow sticker. Just an idea?

  • Hmmm, I have Chicco and mine has none on the seat itself. They are all on the base of the seat and then the actual base.

Obviously they are there for a good reason, but that is surprising. I thought they only did that on floor models. What do I know? First kid :)

A removable sticker would totally defeat the point of the warning sticker.  It is there as a reminder of what NOT to do.

Sharpie it out?  This has to be the dumbest idea yet.

  • OMG!!  Sharpie it out??  removable sticker??

I'm sorry but the car seat is the most important safety item you can purchase and your kid isn't going to give two craps if a warning label is next to their head in a photo.

I agree, this might be one of the craziests posts I have seen on this board.
