kicking and fundal height?

i'm only 22 weeks but i swear i felt kicks on the right side of my belly a few inches above my belly button... is this possible?  im trying to find her- the baby's really not moving much this week and i'm really nervous.  dr. says dont worry, but i'm starting to...

Re: kicking and fundal height?

  • remember the baby does need her sleep.. so if she's not moving,, she's still in there,, sleeping and will be more active when she's awake...

  • At 20 weeks, your uterus was even with your belly button, so it make sense that you might feel a kick right above your belly button 2 weeks later!  I have felt a couple right at mine and it's very strange feeling.

  • He kicked me this morning for a solid 10 minutes about 3 inches above my belly button... so yeah, seems right to me.
  • i know, but it's been all week now that she's really lazy.  i think i've felt her at least once or twice a day, but its a change from before that wen she was moving all the time...
  • i've been feeling them high too, about 2-3 fingers width above my belly button so that sounds right although right now i can't tell the difference between fundal height and my stomach since it seems like everything is pushed up together.

my baby moves tons when i'm eating chocolate. like even a little hershey's kiss or a mini snickers. generally i feel movement after i eat though.

  • TOTALLY possible - fundal height varies by person - I am only 21 weeks and at 20 weeks 6 days my uterus is WAY above my belly button, when my ob checked it on last Tues it was up almost near my breast....so yes (even though ALL the baby sites say at this point our uterus should only be an inch or 2 past our belly button) my OB (who is a high risk specialist) said that is definately variable.

  • I don't know if your baby is breech or not, but mine is and it has caused my fundal height to be equal to 26 weeks even though I'm only 24. It's totally normal and common for fundal height to vary. Also, if your baby recently turned it could make it harder to feel. I know when my baby turned to be head down a few weeks ago I didn't feel her for days. At this point it's really normal for movement to be irregular and skip days.
