When do you want to have "everything done"?

....and by that I mean nursery set up, clothes etc, ready, everything that you will need is ready to go. When?
I am having a minor panic attack this morning because we STILL haven't made any choices regarding nursery furniture, haven't got ANYTHING, and my shower isn't until Feb 5th. I am due Feb 25th.
I want the nursery done by Christmas - but haven't got a solid plan for anything else.

I would recommend trying to get your nursery furniture picked out if it needs to be ordered. I ordered mine 2 weeks ago and they said it probably wont ship until the second week in January. That is stressing me out...

I'm having my shower a little early - Dec. 11th, because of the holidays and a few of my friends are having babies in January and I'd like them to be able to be there. So I'm hoping to have the nursery all set up by the end of December, if possible, but I probably won't start to freak out about it unless it's the end of January and it's still not done.
Don't feel too bad - we didn't start getting stuff until a couple of weeks ago and I felt like we were way behind, because it seems like some girls have had everything ready since like 16 weeks. But so far all we have is about 7 outfits, a baby bath and my sister-in-law's hand me down pack and play. My DH still hasn't finished cleaning all of his crap out of the baby's room and we haven't painted or anything yet. When I start panicking, I try to remember that we still have a few months, and even though it's going to go fast, it's still plenty of time. Good luck!
Uh, by the time the baby comes?
We haven't done a single thing. We're going to look at cribs, strollers, carseats etc. tomorrow, and that'll be the first step. We have nothing and plan to get most of the gear at my shower, which will be end of January. I'm hoping to have the nursery set by March.
Well, here's hoping you have a crystal ball and know exactly when that will be. I am just worried about being caught short if the baby comes early.
I know, and I do need to relax a bit about it. I am prone to getting too stressed out about stupid things.
With DS I was due March 13th. We ordered the furniture when I was 15 weeks, and it came a few weeks later. We were completely re-doing our nursery, so once we found out the sex in October, DS started on everything. He ripped out the carpet and put flooring down. He pretty much painted right away as well. For everything else(valances, wall decor, etc), we set up after we received it at my showers, which was late January/early February. I'd say everyhting was 100% done a month before my due date.
For this LO, I am due March 14Tth (yep, a day after I was due with DS!), the kids will share a room and we will probably start to re-do the nursery in January. I'd like everything done by the end of January, just so I can relax and not worry about it.
Hopes and dreams? I'd like to have it done a week before my c-section.
Realistically...since we're moving the month before, I'd just like to have it done before we leave for the hospital.
In case of pre-term labor, I'm hoping to finish the basics by Thanksgiving - have a few preemie/newborn outfits washed, some diapers, and a plan of who to call to take care of my son in the middle of the night. I need to get some kind of bag packed, too.
Even if the twins come early, though, they say the earliest we could take them home would be around the end of January, so that's my goal for the rest of the details -- the nursery set up, the house refinancing done, a new car big enough to fit all 5 of us, etc.
This whole conversation reminds me of one of my friends.
At the end of the school year last year, June 24th, she posts on facebook, "Now that school is ready, we have the next 6 weeks to get everything done for the baby."
The next post I see is on July 3rd, "Welcome to the world, Maddy!"
The following post, "Thanks to "Aunt" so-and-so and "Uncle" x for setting up the crib for us while we're at the hospital."
So in the end it was all ready for Maddy's homecoming! Don't stress!
