2011 is our hope!

It looks like we are going to do IVF in 2011 no matter what.  B/C of my age we don't want to wait any longer.  We are hopeful to freeze a bunch of eggs for hopeful use with a #2 later so we won't have to worry about my crusty old eggs later.  I feel so much better knowing that this is in our immediate future.  SGFC offers something called shared risk that allows for 3 FET and 3 IVF (6 total) sessions for 1 price.  If we don't get a baby we get our $$ back.  I think we are going to go ahead and do that.  The cost is about ~$25,000- the price of a new car, so since we have no car payments, we will take out a baby loan to pay for it all.  After 3 years and 2 losses, I can't believe I am looking forward to IVF. Cool

    Good luck!  That's a great way to look at the money. Most people wouldn't even really think twice about spending that on a car (I know, we are about to buy one on saturday for just a little less than that) and instead you will hopefully be getting a baby!

    I'm glad you have a plan!  I know the shared risk plans seem like a lot up front, but I think they're a great deal since you either bring home a baby or get most of your $$ back.  I hope that you only need one cycle though!

    Thanks!  I feel lucky that our fertility clinic offers it.  It does suck that we had to get to this point with it, though.

    I hope this is it. I think it sounds like a good plan- it's a lot of money but if you get your baby, I'd pay just about anything right now. Good luck!

    Laura, this is fantastic news! I have a GF here who used SGFC shared risk program and got her forever baby on round 2! I'm so excited to see where this will lead you!

    I'm so excited you made this decision.  Isn't so crazy to be excited for IVF?  I can't wait to start - it seems like it's taken forever to get to this point.  I'm so glad you can use the shared risk program.  I think it will help reduce the stress of putting all of your hope on one cycle.  Good luck!
