If you have already weaned...

So my LO does not like the boob any more.  She shakes her head back and forth and cries and screams when I try to give her my boob.  I had been giving her a mix of formula when I was at work and boobie when I was at home.

I feel good about it, but I was wondering....

How long does it take to wean?  In other words how long before my boobs are dry.  To tell you the truth, I am kind of looking forward to it.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVED breastfeeding, but when you have to fight to get LO to latch on, and then when she chomps down on my nipple, I feel it is a good time to wean her.

    It was really uncomfortable for 2-3 days.  Took about a week before I dried up completely (and my awesome bfing boobs shrunk for good... *sob*)

    lol!  I can't wait until these puppies dry up!  I was a DD BEFORE pregnancy so you can imagine!

    She is too young to self wean.  Sounds like a nursing strike.

    If you are sick of BFing another option would be pumping. 

    DD1 born 5/24/10.

    Missed M/C at 14 wks Feb 2012.

    DD2 born 5/14/13.

    Missed M/C at 9 wks July 2015.

    Expecting someone new 4/17/17.

    My situation is a little different since I EP. I've slowly been getting rid of pumping sessions. I used to pump 6x/day and I'm now down to 3x/day and hopefully next week I can get it to 2. I haven't had any pain so far. I can imagine stopping cold turkey would be pretty painful especially if your supply was good before. GL!

    We did a really slow wean and I wasn't in any pain - a little uncomfortable for a bit tho, but not terribly bad.  I gave up a feeding every week and we started with 8 feedings and were down to 6 at the end.  I was in the same boat, it just got to be a pain to BF and I pretty much stopped as soon as I could (basically my DH and I agreed upon 6 months and said that I wanted to be done before the holidays).  This is our first week without any feedings and the ladies feel much better than I expected.  I could still feel them filling up around the 2nd night, but after that they've just been a bit full, but no pain.  Although I still cannot sleep without a bra on (I am sooo looking forward to this) because I'm still leaking a bit.
