She walked up to me and said you know you can't take any allergy meds because they pass the blood/ placenta barrier. I told her I had discussed this with my doctor and had to take Zyrtec (cat.
for the first tri and then I could go back on Allegra (cat. C).
She proceeded to tell me no, they are wrong. (She has a MD, but hasn't done residency yet.) I argued that I also did my own research, talked to many women that have been on both drugs who went on to have healthy babies, etc.
She still informed me I was wrong and that I needed to just quit taking any meds immediately. I laughed and said then I would have to quit my job because my asthma would be so bad I would be suffering from oxygen dep. She just walked off mad. Some people. Maybe I should have told her I am also taking Prilosec for my acid reflux. She might have spontaneously combusted. ![]()
Re: I got yelled at by a CW for taking allergy meds...
I actually got mad reading that. Great that she has a MD, but your doctor is managing your care. What a tool.
Good for you for not telling her you like to take your meds with a shot of Jack. I'm not sure I would have been able to resist trying to make her blow her top.
Your co-worker is an a$$.

My other blog
I did walk out of here and say to my other CW that I was going to go home and take some more awful horrible drugs namely Tylenol and Sudafed and see if I can maybe find a trampoline to jump on and some crack to smoke. We were laughing so hard at that point I am lucky I didn't pee my pants.
No kidding. My allergies are much worse than normal for this time of year. I am not sure if it is just the mild temps we are still having or the pregnancy. I almost cried happy tears when I hit second tri and could go back on allegra. And oh I have been sleeping so much better when I don't have to wake up with burning throat and itching eyes and ears. I Love my drugs!
